Board and Senior Management

Chairman and Non-Executive Director: Mr John Downie, B. Mech. Eng

John is an experienced manager with more than 30 years international experience in the mining industry. Most recently he was Managing Director for Gladstone Pacific Nickel Limited. He has held senior management positions with various companies including Inco/Vale, Alcoa, NMR Rothschild, Boral and CRA. John was the interim CEO of Goldminex Resources Limited before being appointed Chairman and Non-Executive Director on 2 February 2010.

Chief Executive Officer:  Mr Alexander (Sandy) Moyle, BSc (Hons) M.AIG, AusIMM, SEG

Sandy is a geologist with more than 25 years exploration experience in Australia, SW Pacific and SE Asia. During this time he has held several senior management positions including Regional Exploration Manager, Southwest Pacific with Kennecott Explorations (Australia) Ltd, General Manager – Exploration with Aurora Gold Ltd and Manager - Gold Exploration with Ashton Mining Limited.  Sandy joined Goldminex as Chief Project Geologist in May 2009. He has also completed the Advanced Management Program at the Macquarie Graduate School of Management.

Executive Director:  Mr Steven Tambanis, B.Sc, B.Ec, M.AusIMM

Steven is a geologist with over 20 years of technical and financial experience in the mining industry. He has held a number of managerial positions in exploration, production and business development, for both small and large mining companies, and has worked in the resources broking and banking sectors. He spent seven years at WMC Resources in a corporate business development role, which provided valuable exposure to nickel exploration. Steven led the exploration programme which resulted in the discovery of nickel sulphide mineralisation in the Owen Stanley Ranges, and currently manages Goldminex's PNG exploration, logistics and operations.  Steven was appointed a Director of Goldminex Resources Limited on 31 August 2007.

Non-Executive Director:  Mr David Sode, LLB

David is the Chief Executive Officer of PNG Sustainable Development Ltd (a majority shareholder of Ok Tedi Copper and Gold mine in PNG). His previous role as Commissioner General of the PNG Internal Revenue Commission provided strong experience in customs and excise, taxation and internal revenue in PNG. David was appointed a Director of Goldminex Resources Limited on 31 August 2007, resided as Chairman on 19 June 2009 until his current appointment of Non-Executive Director on 2 February 2010.

Non-Executive Director:  Mr Adrian Fleming, B.Sc (Hons), M.AusIMM 

Adrian is a geologist with more than 30 years experience in minerals exploration, mine development and mining operations including gold, base metals and diamonds. Adrian has held positions as General Manager of Exploration for Placer Pacific, CEO for Giant Yellowknife Mines in Toronto, Vice President of Exploration for Golden Star Resources in Denver and was founder of Underworld Resources listed on the TSX in 2007.  Adrian was appointed a Director of Goldminex Resources Limited on 31 August 2007 and was Chairman until 19 June 2009.  

Non-Executive Director:  Mr Andrew Matheson, B.Eng (Geological) 

Andrew is a geological engineer with post-graduate qualifications in management and more than 20 years of experience within the resources and engineering fields. During his career, Andrew has worked in senior management, technical and operational roles including exploration, project evaluation, development and construction, infrastructure, underground and open cut mining operations. His experience includes iron ore, coal, manganese, copper, gold and nickel within projects in Australia, Africa, Indonesia, and New Caledonia. His previous management and engineering roles have included positions with Aquila Resources, BHPB and GHD. Andrew was appointed a Director of Goldminex Resources Limited on 19 June 2009.

Non-Executive Director:  Mr Colin Patterson, B.Sc (Eng) Mining, B.Com (Hons), FAICD, F.AusIMM

Colin has in excess of 38 years experience in the mining industry in Australia, Asia, North America, South America and South Africa. Colin is CEO of a private mining and exploration company, ASVI based in Malaysia, and was formerly CEO of Olympus Pacific Minerals Inc., a TSX listed company, Pan Palladium and Emperor Mines. He is also a non-executive director of Odin Mining (Canada) and the Phoenix Gold fund (Malaysia).  Colin was appointed a Director of Goldminex Resources Limited on 31 August 2007.

Company Secretary:  Mr Paul Thaw, B.Econ & Comm (Hons), MBA, CPA

Paul has more than 20 years of experience in corporate administration, management and compliance at major listed companies, including Golden Shamrock Mines, NEC, Village Roadshow and Adecco.  As a finance executive, Paul has substantial experience in a broad range of industries including mining and exploration in Australia and abroad.    Paul  was appointed Company Secretary of Goldminex Resources Limited on 2 June 2009.
