Goldminex Resources Limited (ASX:GMX) is a leading green fields gold-copper and nickel explorer with extensive tenement holdings covering approximately 10,000 km² in Papua New Guinea (PNG).  These are situated within the highly-prospective and under-explored Owen Stanley Fault Zone in the Papuan Peninsula and the East Sepik Province.  Goldminex is focused on the discovery of greater than 2Moz gold or gold equivalent deposits. The Company’s goal is to rapidly advance its main projects to resource definition stage to create a platform for future growth.

In a sign of the mining industry’s recognition of the Company’s exploration expertise, Goldminex announced during 2011 it had signed a Farm-in Agreement with major mining house Vale S.A.

The Agreement covers various tenements held by Goldminex within the prospective Owen Stanley Ranges and enables Goldminex to rapidly advance its major porphyry copper-gold projects and continue exploration on other targets.

Goldminex holds additional exploration licences in the Owen Stanley Ranges which have both epithermal and porphyry gold mineralisation potential.  The Company has retained 100% rights to Ni mineralisation within its joint venture tenement areas.  Goldminex has identified a range of targets which will be evaluated as part of the ongoing Regional Exploration / Generative programs to ensure a consistent pipeline of prospective projects is maintained.
